Galway MRT responded to a request for assistance from Mayo Mountain Rescue Team for a call out to Croagh Patrick. Galway MRT would like to thank Mayo MRT and the Volunteers who responded to this callout.

Call-Out Report: Team Member Assists Casualty on Croagh Patrick

A team member who summited Croagh Patrick came across a visitor fatigued from exposure to the elements. After a survey the member walked the casualty down to the road head.

Call-Out Report: Team Rescue Hikers Trapped by Swollen Rivers

Galway MRT responded to a call from Clifden Gardai to rescue two hikers trapped in the Owenglen valley by flooded rivers. The Team immediately dispatched its 4x4 vehicle to the vicinity, located the hikers in darkness assessed the condition of the river and retrieved them returning them to their vehicle. Galway MRT would like to the volunteers who responded to this callout.

Call-Out Report: Team Assist 7 Casualties on Croagh Patrick

Galway MRT attended the annual Reek Sunday pilgrimage on Croagh Patrick and assisted 7 casualties, stretchering one casualty for an emergency evacuation by Aer Corp Helicopter and another down to the road head to an awaiting ambulance. Galway MRT would like to the volunteers who responded to this callout and the Order of Malta and the Aer Corp for their assistance.

Call-Out Report: Team Responds to Call for Assistance in Connemara National Park

Galway MRT responded to a call from Clifden Garda station to assist a hiker who had taken a small fall on Diamond Hill. The Team deployed immediately with two members intercepted the Casualty descending unaided within her hiking group. Galway MRT would like to the volunteers who responded to this callout and the staff at the Connemara National Park.
